Piccini

n 1882, Mr. Angiolo Piccini Chianti Tuscany started the first Piccini winery in the heart of the Tuscany Region.  By 1920 Piccini wineries dotted the whole of the Tuscany region when Angiolo's son “Mario” inherited the family business. Mario went on to quickly expand the family business sales throughout all of Italy. By the 1960s when the third generation of the family begins running the business the winery is expanding on its own at a steady rate, as is the whole of the Italian wine industry which today enjoys the luxury of strong wine exports to the whole of Europe.

Today, the fourth generation of the family heirs, Mali Auch “Mario” and his sister Martina jointly manage the winery business together, constantly developing new products, improving quality, and expanding the market. Today, the Tuscan Region is home to some of the most important and central wineries in all of Italy. Currently, the Piccini winery has 28 branches in Italy and it also runs a professional wine research center. The winery exports 85 percent of the wine it produces to 72 countries and regions around the world. In a hundred years of development, the generations that have overseen the expansion of the Piccini wineries have shared one common goal, to always produce and use the highest quality grapes in Italy. Because of this, the Piccini logo is synonymous with quality. Now, as the winery continues to expand its vineyards in Tuscany and Sicily, the winery is careful to do so by fostering long-term collaborations with local growers. This philosophy can best be seen by the quality of wines produced at the winery headquarters in Tuscany and the multiple wineries in Chianti, where they still produce the famous Montalcino and Bolgheri wines which are just as famous for supporting local growers as they are for producing multinational investment around the world. In the end, it all starts with local wines, produced by local growers and the quality that this philosophy generates. As long as this remains the engine behind the Piccini winery’s growth, that growth will remain healthy and strong because the wine will always reflect all that is good about Italian wine. As such, it will always put a smile of the faces of those who pop a cork, pour a glass and take a drink.
